Question 1

Does co-op replace homeschool curriculum?

Accepted Answer

No. Dikaios is an enrichment-based program designed to support and enhance your homeschool journey—not replace it. While many classes focus on extracurricular opportunities like art, music, cooking, and athletics, we also offer grade-appropriate educational classes such as science, STEM, history, language arts, personal finance, and yearbook to complement learning at home. The only exception are the Academic classes for high school students.

Question 2

Do moms have to teach?

Accepted Answer

No. Moms are not required to teach, though after attending for one semester, parents are encouraged to consider leading a class if they feel able. Families who are not teaching are asked to support the co-op in other meaningful ways, such as serving as a teacher’s assistant during two class periods or co-teaching alongside another parent.

Question 3

Can I join mid-year?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Families are welcome to register for classes at any point during the year. If you’d like to preview co-op before joining, we encourage you to contact our office or sign up for a visitor day to experience classes in action.

Question 4

How often does co-op meet?

Accepted Answer

Our enrichment co-op meets every other Thursday from September through early December and again from late January through early May. Please note that academic classes meet weekly every Thursday.

Question 5

How do I know what to teach?

Accepted Answer

Start by considering your own gifts, interests, or experience. Many parents teach from skills they already use in everyday life, whether that’s finance, art, baking, crafts, science, or practical life skills. Another great option is to build a class around something you’re already teaching at home and invite other students to learn alongside you. If you’re unsure where to begin, our Co-Op Coordinator can help with ideas, guidance, and even past successful lesson plans you can adapt or use as-is.

Question 6

Do parents stay on campus?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Unless otherwise arranged, children must have a responsible adult on campus throughout the co-op day. Academic classes are considered drop-off classes, though parents are always welcome to remain on-site.

Question 7

What’s the difference between Academic Classes and Co-Op Classes?

Accepted Answer

Academic Classes are designed for 8th–12th grade students and fully replace a course at home. These classes meet weekly on-site, include instruction, assignments, and grading, and function as a complete academic course. Co-Op Classes, on the other hand, are enrichment-based and are designed to support—not replace—your homeschool studies at home.

Question 8

What ages does Dikaios serve?

Accepted Answer

Dikaios offers care for children ages 1–4 and classes for students from Pre-K through 12th grade. Mothers with infants are welcome to use the nursing mothers room or library, though infant care is not typically provided unless arranged in advance.
